A new update has revealed that rumours about Call of Duty blocking limited-time modes behind battle passes were false.
Call of Duty is Not Paywalling LTMs
A rumour from last week suggested that Call of Duty might be looking to change its battle pass strategy with its next title. The rumour indicated that the game might include more seasonal, limited-time modes, with some only accessible to players who own the battle pass. As you can expect, this information didn’t go down well with the community.
Now, reliable Call of Duty source CharlieIntel has provided an update on the situation. Their new post on X (formerly Twitter) stated that the rumour about Call of Duty “putting limited time modes behind Battle Pass is false”. The post also noted that this change would not be seen in the Call of Duty title released in 2025.
Players will definitely be excited to see that they do not have to shell out more money to try different modes of the next Call of Duty game, considering they would already need to pay a premium to purchase the base game. There were also talks about higher tier skins, loot, and crossover operators for LTMs being locked behind a battle pass in the previous rumour.
In other news, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 PS5 bundles are reportedly releasing soon. Also, the producer of the cancelled XDefiant recently called out Call of Duty’s ‘fomo marketing’.
