Before jumping into a Warzone Ranked Play match, it’s essential to have the best possible loadout so you have a leg up on the rest of the competition.
During Modern Warfare 3’s life cycle, Ranked Play was only available on Resurgence maps. Black Ops 6 Season 3 Reloaded finally ended that drought by bringing the game mode to a traditional battle royale map with Verdansk.
The game mode has the same structure that fans remember. Lobbies have 150 players, featuring 50 teams of three. All players start as a bronze rank and progress through seven different divisions by earning Skill Rating through eliminations and winning matches. At the end of every season, you earn rewards based on your highest division reached. To reach the higher divisions, having the best loadout is a game-changer.
Best Long-Range Warzone Ranked Play Loadouts
Before jumping into the loadouts, it’s important to note that all Modern Warfare 2 and 3 weapons are banned in Ranked Play, meaning you can only use Black Ops 6 guns.
CR-56 AMAX

- Optic: Kepler Reflex
- Muzzle: Compensator
- Barrel: Gain Twist Barrel
- Magazine: Extended Mag II
- Fire Mods: Recoil Springs
The CR-56 AMAX is the best long-range meta weapon in Warzone. As part of the Season 3 Reloaded buffs and nerfs, the AR had its reload speed increased by 15%, but that wasn’t enough to knock it from the top spot.
According to TrueGameData, the CR-56 AMAX has a time-to-kill speed of 570 milliseconds, which is only slightly slower than the AK-74, which has a time-to-kill speed of 552 milliseconds. An easy-to-control recoil pattern and reliable damage output make this AR a must-use in Ranked Play.
SWAT 5.56 (Grau Conversion)

- Muzzle: Compensator
- Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
- Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
- Magazine: Full-Auto Extended Mag
- Fire Mods: SWAT 5.56 Grau Conversion
I am here to assure you that even though the Grau AR was only reintroduced as a conversion kit rather than a new weapon, it still packs the same punch fans know and love. Additionally, the iron sights aren’t the same as the original weapon, but they still provide a clean enough sightline, meaning you don’t need to use an optic.
Kilo 141

- Optic: Kepler Microflex
- Muzzle: Compensator
- Barrel: Gain-Twist Barrel
- Magazine: Extended Mag II
- Fire Mods: 5.56 Nato Overpressured
Don’t expect the Kilo 141 to have the same destructive power as the SWAT 5.56 or CR-56 AMAX, but this AR is the easiest to use due to its forgiving recoil pattern, and it still has a fast enough TTK to be competitive. If you are new to Ranked Play and aren’t as confident in your aim, this is the weapon for you.
Best Short-Range Warzone Ranked Play Loadouts
Ladra

- Muzzle: Compensator
- Barrel: Long Barrel
- Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
- Magazine: Extended Mag I
- Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip
The new SMG in Season 3 Reloaded is the best short-range meta option. Players will immediately notice that the Ladra has an excellent fire rate and is capable of comfortably taking on opponents out to 20 meters. You would think that a weapon with that profile would be hard to control, but the recoil is very manageable, and even better with attachments.
AK-74

- Muzzle: Compensator
- Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
- Magazine: Extended Mag II
- Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
- Stock: Infilitrator Stock
Raven Software nerfed the AK-74 by decreasing its headshot and lower torso multipliers, and sprint-to-fire and aim-down sight speeds. This was all done in an effort to make the AR less dominant in short-range gunfights and render SMGs useless. However, the update failed to touch its damage, so the AK-74 still shreds through enemies with ease.
KSV

- Muzzle: Compensator
- Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
- Magazine: Extended Mag II
- Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
- Stock: Infilitrator Stock
There are plenty of options that perform closely to the KSV, but it is personally my favorite Black Ops 6 SMG. The impressive damage output is noticeable, and regardless of what the stats say, this SMG is capable of going toe-to-toe with other meta options in any gunfight closer than 10 meters away.
Best Sniper Warzone Ranked Play Loadout

- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: Gain-Twist Barrel
- Underbarrel: Lightweight Bipod
- Rear Grip: Quickdraw Grip
- Stock: 108mm Overpressured
Raven Software listened to community feedback and nerfed the HDR in Season 3 Reloaded, but it might not be to the degree some players expected or wanted. The sniper rifle’s aim-down-sight speed slowed from 510 milliseconds to 600 milliseconds.
As a result, the weapon is significantly slower, but the HDR still stands head and shoulders above the rest of the competition because it can still one-shot kill an enemy from any range with one headshot.
Best Perks & Equipment For Warzone Ranked Play
Scavenger, Tracker, and Alertness are the best trio of Perks in Season 3.
- Perk 1: Scavenger (Start equipped with maximum reserve ammo for your primary weapon. Resupply ammo equipment and plates from dead enemies)
- Perk 2: Tracker (See enemy footsteps. Bullets you fire briefly outline an enemy for you and your squad)
- Perk 3: Alertness (Sense enemies when enemies are nearby, or when you are being aimed at by the enemy)
- Tactical: Smoke Grenade
- Lethal:
Since armor plates are so hard to come by, Scavenger is a must-use Perk for every loadout because you can get more armor off dead enemies.
Meanwhile, losing enemies while chasing after them on Verdansk is easy, so Tracker allows you to see their recent footsteps. Additionally, hitting an enemy from a greater distance increases the time they are outlined. And even though Raven Software added new objects on the map to provide cover in open areas, there is always the danger of getting taken out by a one-shot sniper or an enemy with better positioning than you. Alertness alleviates this issue by pinging your screen when someone sees you.
As for equipment, using a Smoke Grenade makes it easier to rotate safely, while Frag Grenades can flush an enemy out from behind cover or finish off a weakened foe.
Best Wildcard in Warzone Ranked Play
Overkill is the best Wildcard to use. In Season 3, Raven Software removed the ability to purchase loadout weapons from the Buy Station. As a result, the only way to acquire loadout weapons is through loadout drops.
So, while having three extra attachments on a weapon with the Gunfighter Wildcard would be nice, we recommend using Overkill to give you a second primary weapon because acquiring one will otherwise be difficult.
