April 30 marks four years since Returnal’s launch. Housemarque’s AAA PlayStation success story won many awards, and PS5 Pro owners can enjoy a new suped-up update featuring “Up to 2.5X the pixels.”
There was a lot of confusion surrounding Returnal when it came out. Many casual gamers didn’t fully understand the intricacies of a roguelite, but it didn’t stop the title from selling over a million copies—and counting. Returnal has arrived on PC since, and it has a graphic novel and an artbook.
Housemarque might be working on Saros, but it’s not forgetting the impact of Returnal.
Returnal Gets PS5 Pro Enhanced Patch
News of the Returnal PS5 Pro update was announced through the Housemarque X account. It declared: “Returnal PS5 Pro Enhanced Patch is Out Now!”
The PS5 Pro offers better graphical and performance-enhancing abilities compared to the original PS5. We’re not sure on the full extent of the patch, but Housemarque promises: “Up to 2.5X the pixels on PS5 Pro for a higher resolution experience of Returnal.“
Returnal’s fights and bosses usually sparkle and pop with a flurry of cascading colors. If you are a PS5 Pro owner, it might be worth checking out the 4th-anniversary update.
