5 Games Like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad looter-shooter might not have the most innovative gameplay, but it sure gets your blood pumping in only a few minutes of playtime. It’s a snappy game that has a cast of the most iconic superheroes and supervillains of all time. That’s a combo you won’t come across often and will surely miss after beating the game. If that happens to be the predicament you’ve found yourself in now, here are the best games like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League you need to glide into next.

Games Like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

There are plenty of superhero games out in the wild that are similar to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. This list tries to nail that down to the top five games that match it in story, gameplay, visuals, and design. However, it’s all but a guarantee you’ll have many awesome recommendations lined up too. Luckily, you can talk about them to your heart’s content in the comments below.

5. Gotham Knights

Gotham Knights was an easy one to include here. It has got co-op, is a DC game, has a narrative-driven story mode, and features four playable characters that include Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Red Hood. Sounds familiar right? That’s because it very much is.

There’s a lot of Harley Quinn and Batman in Gotham Knights too and you’ll feel right at home playing it. Gotham Knights isn’t a live-service game and has a far smaller open-world, however, the similarities outweigh the differences. The atmosphere is gritty, the characters are well-written, and the combat is different but refreshing. If you’re looking for the closest thing to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Gotham Knights takes the cake.

4. Marvel’s Avengers

Marvel’s Avengers

They say the more the protagonists, the more fun you will have, provided a reasonable story and good gameplay are attached. Marvel’s Avengers seems to have loads of the former, and a bit of both when it comes to the latter. Though it’s quite clear that Marvel’s Avengers is indeed a fantastic option when listing games like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Black Widow, Thor, and that’s not even half of it. Marvel’s Avengers is a rollercoaster ride and every hour it’ll throw a new superhero at you to play as. That also means the gameplay will change completely, keeping the game fresh and you hooked on the world-ending storyline taking place. It’s a solid option to lean on next after you’re done Killing the Justice League in Metropolis.

3. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is another narrative-driven game that features multiple protagonists. While you always play as Star-Lord throughout the game, you’ll always have control over the entire Guardians’ actions. Which skills they use, when they attack, and what they do, you’ll have a say in all of it.

With each Guardian specializing in a different set of skills, you have a wide arsenal of ranged, melee, and superpower attacks. Shooting them, pummeling them, or zapping enemies with superpowers, you’ll find everything in here.

As for the backdrop, it’s a linear game but doesn’t feel like one at all. One moment you are in Lady Hellbender’s Fortress trying to rescue Groot, and the next you’re killing the humongous dragon Fin Fang Foom on Maklu IV. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy knows how to keep players entertained. It has arguably a better story than Suicide Squad, tons of shooting, and spectacular set pieces that make even the battle against Superman seem underwhelming.

2. Helldivers 2

helldivers 2

Helldivers 2 is a third-person shooter and right now it’s one of the best games like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League available on the PS5 and PC. Like Suicide Squad, Helldivers 2 is extremely fast-paced. It forces players to remain mobile while combating the unearthly monsters, so staying still and mashing buttons isn’t an option.

Co-op mode supports up to 4 players, and with friends having your back, dismembering the weirdest creatures in the galaxy does present some appeal. Helldivers 2 is a snappy game where you just dive in and start shooting at everything that moves. There are tons of customization options and weapons available to choose from, so the game never loses its touch, and ultimately, Helldivers 2 feels as if it’s an amalgamation of all the best parts of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

1. The Batman: Arkham Series

The Batman: Arkham Series, Arkham knight

Without Rocksteady creating the Arkhamverse first, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League wouldn’t be anything more than an idea, so let’s give credit where it’s due. The Batman: Arkham series consists of four games and each of them is better than its predecessor.

You’ll see Batman’s origins, his greatest cases, fiercest foes, and battle them all to save Gotham. Since Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a spin-off sequel of this universe, you’ll come across Harley Quinn, Deadshot, The Penguin, Joker, and countless other supervillains during their early careers as criminals in the four mainline Arkham games.

Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham games do not have any shooting and instead have a unique beat ‘em up combat system similar to God of War, and if I’m being honest, at their core, both franchises are nothing alike. Be that as it may, the Arkham series is legendary and its different storylines will give you all the context about Suicide Squad and how terrifying the threat they are facing in Kill the Justice League truly is. The Batman: Arkham games are simply a must-play for fans wanting to explore more games like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
