1047 Ends Empulse and Splitgate Arena Reloaded Development

1047 Games is ending active development of Empulse and Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, moving both to peer-to-peer play on September 3.

The latest round of unfortunate news comes directly from 1047 Games on social media. They said neither game is generating enough revenue to cover the cost of the dedicated servers. They have stated that the games will move to a peer-to-peer hosting format beginning on September 3, 8 days from this writing.

We believe people should be able to keep playing the games they love even after
active development ends. The original Splitgate launched seven years ago. When its
dedicated servers went offline last year, we moved it to peer-to-peer so people could
keep playing. It remains playable today, including on console. Wherever technically
possible, we want that to be true of every game we make.

So we have reworked Empulse and Splitgate: Arena Reloaded to support peer-to-peer
play.

In addition to moving the game to a P2P format, Empulse will also receive a new final map. The game will also lower its price across all regions. The details of the map and the amount of the price cut are not yet stated.

The game was released in late June 2026. As of this writing, there are 204 concurrent players in the arena shooter, with an all-time total of 2,860 Steam players. The game is currently $19.99 on Steam and is listed as an Early Access title.

1047 Games says that they will be changing their focus after a decade of building live service shooters, but their passion will not shift.

After ten years of focusing on live service shooters, our focus is changing. What we build next may look very different from what people expect from 1047 Games, but what has not changed is why we are here: we love making games. We have learned a lot over the years, and we will carry those lessons into what we build next.
