Lawbreakers is back and able to be played again, sort of. Six years after the game was shut down due to lower player count, Boss Key’s team shooter is back with Lawbreakers 2.0.
Lawbreakers 2.0 is a launcher for the game that allows players to load up the game and play online multiplayer again. The launcher is still in development and going through various stress tests. An official full launch of the project will be announced in the future.
“Projects like this can take a lot of time to make,” the project’s lead developer posted on Discord. “Releasing the launcher wouldn’t do much good either as it doesn’t work without the entire backend supporting it.”
To join potential future public play tests, you can sign up via the aforementioned Discord.
It should also be noted that this mod has no affiliation with its publisher Nexon. Also, the project’s developer says the point of the launcher is just to make the game playable again, not to add any new features or updates to Lawbreakers itself.
The game’s creator Cliff Bleszinki has even taken notice of the launcher mod, seemingly praising it with retweets as well as linking to its Discord server.
