Xbox Game Pass Wave 1 For August 2025 Revealed

Microsoft has revealed its Wave 1 games coming to Xbox Game Pass in August. Joining the service as early as today (August 5) are eight games along with a few DLC and game updates as well as various in game benefits.

As mentioned, eight games are coming to the service starting on August 5 with Rain World for all members for cloud, console, and PC. But that’s not all as the lineup also includes a couple surprising titles, including an Assassin’s Creed game for Game Pass Ultimate members.

Wave 1 Xbox Game Pass Games For August

On August 6, four more games join the Xbox Game Pass catalog:

  • Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (Game Pass Standard on Xbox Series X|S)
  • Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (Game Pass Standard on Xbox Series X|S)
  • MechWarrior 5: Clans (Game Pass Standard on Xbox Series X|S)
  • Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (Game Pass Standard on Xbox Series X|S)

On August 7, Assassin’s Creed Mirage joins the service on cloud, console, and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC subscribers.

August 12 has Aliens: Fireteam Elite release on cloud, console, and PC for all members while 9 Kings hits Xbox Game Preview on August 14 for those with Ultimate and PC.

Other Game Pass Additions

Aside from the newly added games to the service, Game Pass members will be getting a number of other benefits and additions this month.

August 7 sees Madden NFL 26 join EA Play—which is included in your membership—for its 10-hour trailer. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced launches on August 12 while Season 17 for Sea of Thieves comes on August 14.

Lastly, the following in-game benefits are also coming:

  • Smite 2: Phantom Seas Poseidon Drop (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – August 6
    Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass
  • Naraka Bladepoint: Phoenix Princess Bundle (Cloud, Console, and PC)  – August 7
    Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass
  • War Thunder: Game Pass Bonus (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 12
    Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass
  • Enlisted: Game Pass Bonus (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – August 12
    Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass
  • Call of Duty: Warzone – Game Pass Pack 3(Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 14
    Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass

With those games joining the catalog, that means three games are leaving the service on August 15: Anthem, Farming Simulator 22, and Persona 3 Reload.
