WWE Has Released One Game Per Year for Decades
Earlier this year, WWE filed for three separate gaming-related trademarks. These trademarks suggested a potential generational clash between WWE Superstars. However, WWE has not announced any game projects beyond its annual console release. You can learn more about these trademarks here.
2026 marks the 20th anniversary of WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007. This was the first WWE game released on the Xbox 360. With that, it’s been 20 years since WWE stopped releasing different experiences for each gaming console and instead began releasing a single, uniform experience annually.
It is not certain whether these trademarks will lead to a new video game release, and if that game will be released on mobile or console devices. Insider Gaming will continue to monitor the story and report any updates as more information becomes available.
