Brad Pitt Will Reprise His Role in WORLD WAR Z Sequel

Brad Pitt is set to reprise his role in a new WORLD WAR Z sequel, it has been revealed.

The movie, which will be produced by Paramount, reportedly closed a deal to see Brad Pitt return, with Edward Berger to direct the film.

WORLD WAR Z 2 Release Date and Info

First reported by Deadline, the movie will see Brad Pitt return once again, with Dennis Kelly writing the movie’s script. Unfortuantely, details on the movie’s plot are being kept heavily under wraps, but it’s been no secret that Brad Pitt has wanted to do a WORLD WAR Z sequel for over a decade.

Pitt’s long-time friend and collaborator was once penciled in to direct the film, but budget issues saw the project put on hold.

It’s currently unclear when WORLD WAR Z 2, or whatever it’s going to be called, will be released; it’s likely to come in the next couple of years, as filming has not yet started.

As for the plot of the movie, the original was based on Max Brooks’ bestselling novel, World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, so it’s not clear where Dennis Kelly will take the second film.

The World War Z IP also picked up some steam earlier this year, as the video game saw a massive collaboration with The Walking Dead. Insider Gaming’s Grant Taylor-Hill gave the game an 8/10.

“There’s no reason why you’d not invest ten bucks in The Walking Dead’s crossover with World War Z, especially if you’re a fan of either title. It’s not just a cosmetics pack; it’s a more in-depth offering that plants you in the heart of the show’s most memorable locations and allows you to explore them with timeline-bending characters,” he said.
