Fortnite’s Star Wars season is in full swing and, for the first time, vehicles have been added that allow you to fulfil your dogfighting dreams behind the controls of an Imperial TIE Fighter.
The TIE Fighter is one of two aerial vehicles available in Fortnite this season, the other being the X-Wing, and they look set to be crucial to the end-of-season narrative event.
Using this guide, we’ll direct you right to the cockpit—but be warned, there may be a bit of a to-do list waiting for you.
Where to Find Imperial TIE Fighters in Fortnite

TIE Fighters in Fortnite don’t have guaranteed spawns, as far as we’ve uncovered, and instead, the locations are random. In some games, I’ve easily found one north of the First Order Base, but the launchpad has been empty in others.
In the snowy areas around the First Order Base, there are a few other spawn locations for TIE Fighters, but again, these aren’t guaranteed, and it’s down to luck. Plus, someone else might beat you there.
There is, however, one spot where a TIE Fighter is waiting, though you’ll need to complete a mini quest and fend off any enemies that are nearby.
How to Fix The Imperial TIE Fighter in Fortnite
A broken TIE Fighter is found at the fork in the road south of Flooded Frogs and northwest of Magic Mosses. So far, this is the only guaranteed Imperial TIE Fighter spawn I’ve located.
Once you’ve arrived at the location, follow these steps to fix the TIE Fighter, which can then be used to create aerial havoc upon any unfortunate enemies you encounter.
- Investigate the terminal to activate the mini quest, with objectives displayed on the HUD.
- Search the nearby area for three lots of fuel—they’re marked by white diamonds with exclamation points.
- Once all lots of fuel are collected, interact with the broken TIE Fighter and hold the repair prompt.
- Jump inside the TIE Fighter and take off.
Naturally, given that this is the only guaranteed TIE Fighter spawn I’ve found, it’s often a hot landing spot with plenty of competition, so only focus on the repair when nearby enemies are eliminated.
If you can arrive first, there are a few chests to gain loot from and plenty of Slurp barrels to destroy for shield, which should give you an edge over anyone else who arrives.
Should you sustain any damage at any point, whether it be to attacking enemies or poor piloting skills, park at any Gas Station on the map in Fortnite to repair the TIE Fighter—just like you would a normal car in any other season.
Now you know how to gain access to an Imperial TIE Fighter, take a look at all the new Star Wars skins this season, and learn about the Force Abilities you can use in combat.
