The Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 has been one of the biggest events in the world since its inception in 1996. The last E3 was held in 2021 and was a digital-only event due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic. Since then, people have wondered when the next E3 was going to happen, and if it will happen at all.
When is E3 2024 Happening?
Unfortunately, there is no E3 2024, and it doesn’t appear that E3 will happen again. At least, anytime soon that is. After canceling 2023’s event, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) also canceled the 2024 event to reevaluate the future of the event.
Just months later, however, the ESA officially announced that it was ending E3 entirely after 25 years.
What Gaming Events Are There?
With E3 no more, some may think that major gaming events are going to become a thing of the past. Luckily, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Throughout the year there are a number of events that will allow both press and fans to get hands on new and upcoming games as well as learn about games currently in development. Those events include Gamescom, PAX East and West, Summer Game Fest, and much more.
All of these events have the game announcements, trailers, and first looks that E3 had become known for. That makes sure that fans aren’t left out with the latest in gaming.

On top of these larger events, companies like Microsoft, PlayStation, Nintendo, and several large publishers hold their own events throughout the year to showcase what they’ve been working on. So, even without E3, there’s no shortage of places to find your gaming news.
