A developer at Warhorse Studios has been fired and replaced by an AI.
A former Warhorse Studios employee recently shared on Reddit that they were terminated without warning, as their job was being replaced by AI. Max H, posting on Reddit under the username ThousandDemons, shared in the Kingdom Come subreddit that they had been a Czech-to-English translator and editor at the studio since July 2022.
They were primarily working on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 before being abruptly terminated on March 27, 2026.
Statement From Former Warhorse Studios Employee
In their lengthy Reddit statement, Max H expressed feeling betrayed by the company’s management. They noted that they would not be breaking any terms of their NDA, but they also wanted to share their experience and alert others to how the growing use of AI affects people in the industry.
“Yesterday, March 27th 2026, with no forewarning, I was invited to a meeting and promptly told that, in an effort to ‘make the company more effective’ and ‘save finances’, as of next month, my position at the company would become ‘ obsolete’ in favour of using AI for all translations going forward. This came as a huge shock to me, as though the discussion about using AI for translating had frequently come up in the past, something I was always strongly and vocally against, but never to the extent that it might actually cost me my job in the future. It had, of course, crossed my mind many times, but I naively thought my work at WHS was valued enough that I might not be at immediate risk,” a portion of the post reads.
He would go on to wish his former colleagues well and make several edits encouraging readers not to harass anyone working at the studio. Insider Gaming will continue to report on this matter and share any updates if they become available.
The game’s director has been open about supporting AI technology. They also recently came out in support of NVIDIA’s DLSS 5 technology. Learn more about that at this link.

Look, I’m totally against the sloppening and AI replacing jobs they aren’t doing well. I think we should be clear, a translator doesn’t really equal a developer.
This is categorically important to separate these distinctions. It allows us to see the impact of the fields being affected and also determine the damage being done by these systems.
This coming from someone who unfortunately has to design and implement these.
