Dawn of War 4 Delayed by Almost Three Months For Final Enhancements

King Art Games and Deep Silver have delayed Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 by almost three months to allow for more polish and to ensure the ‘best experience possible’ is being lined up for fans. The game was originally slated to drop on September 17, fitting into an already packed monthly schedule, but it’ll now land on December 3.

Those who purchase the game’s highest version, the Commander Edition, will still receive three-day early access, letting them kick off their Dawn of War 4 adventure from November 30.

Why Was Dawn of War 4 Delayed?

In a recent post and video published to explain the new Dawn of War 4 release date, the team’s creative director, Jan Theysen, said:

As we approached the final stages of development, we saw an opportunity to further enhance Dawn of War 4 and deliver the quality of experience we’ve always envisioned. The additional time will allow us to continue optimising performance, resolving bugs, and applying further polish to ensure players have the best possible experience from day one

It’s an age-old story, and it’s one these days that nobody seems to mind, unless the delay is exorbitant or indefinite. The team providing a rescheduled date and going far as to make a video explaining the move is the best way to deliver this news, all things considered.

It does obviously mean that Dawn of War 4 will launch shortly after Grand Theft Auto 6, which is a period that most publishers and developers are actively avoiding, but it could be argued that Dawn of War 4’s demographic doesn’t align with Grand Theft Auto’s audience.
