How the VCT 2027 circuit will work

VCT Kickoff 2027 will formally begin Tier 1 action in 2027, but Open Qualifiers for VCT Kickoff are set to begin in November, only a few short weeks away.

The ‘VCT Open’ events are ‘Regional’ events, defined as competitions within a certain location or nation. For example, Europe will have three ‘Regions’ in 2027: Europe, MENA, and Türkiye.

That is not to be confused with the previously labelled ‘regions’ of EMEA, Americas, China, and Pacific. Competitions which include various regions are now called ‘International tournaments,’ e.g. the VCT Cup. Valorant Masters and Valorant Champions are now referred to as ‘Global’ tournaments.

VCT Opens will qualify teams to VCT Kickoff and Cups, which can then qualify teams to Global events, meaning there are pathways for every team to make the biggest events in the Tier 1 calendar.

Partner teams still exist in Valorant’s 2027 circuit, and you can see all the benefits of partnership here. Most importantly for VCT Kickoff, Kickoff in VCT Americas, EMEA, and Pacific will each feature 12 teams: 8 partner teams and 4 teams from Open Qualifiers.

After that, Partnered teams will have to qualify for events, albeit starting at a later part of the qualification process.

The partner teams are yet to be announced, but Insider Gaming will keep you up to date with all the info when it is formally announced.
