Faker Has Become a Minion in Unexpected T1 x Universal Collab

South Korean esports organisation T1 has announced a merchandise collaboration with the Minions from Despicable Me.

The most successful League of Legends team ever are currently preparing for Worlds 2026 in an attempt to win a seventh Summoner’s Cup.

And the massively popular LoL roster, including Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok, has been reimagined as yellow minions in this new T1 x Minions collaboration.

The LCK organisation claims that Universal Products & Experiences made a rare exception to its licensing rules to make this happen.

T1 x Minions Collab Merchandise

The limited-edition merchandise line, available in T1’s online store, includes:

  • Keyboard Keycap Set – ₩69,000 / $50
  • Desk Mat – ₩35,000 / $25
  • Keychain Set – ₩42,500 / $32
  • Passport Case – ₩16,000 /$12
  • Single Keychain – ₩8,500 / $6

While not currently listed on the website, the collection also includes plush dolls of all five of T1’s LCK players, Choi ‘Doran’ Hyeon-jun, Mun ‘Oner’ Hyeon-jun, Faker, Kim ‘Peyz’ Su-hwan and Ryu ‘Keria’ Min-seok, dressed in Minion uniforms.

T1 CEO Joe Marsh praised the popularity of the LoL team for making this collaboration possible:

“Universal making an exclusive exception to depict our players as Minions highlights the unprecedented global impact of T1 and our roster.”

“We cannot wait for fans around the world to get their hands on this unique collection,” he added.

After a record sixth and third consecutive Worlds title last year, T1 are one of the most popular esports teams in the world and will likely be amongst the favourites to win Worlds 2026 too.

Last year, the South Korean organization made close to $60 million and has continued to expand its business.

This includes a new online T1 shop in Europe and the opening of its new flagship Base Camp gaming cafe in Gangnam, Korea.
