Riot Games has confirmed that Valorant’s newest gun, the Warden, won’t be playable at Valorant Champions Shanghai.
The powerful rifle was revealed as part of a huge Valorant dev update with a new Gauntlet: Glitched game mode and more for Patch 13.06.
However, the official VCT Twitter account has confirmed that Champions Shanghai, the game’s biggest esports tournament this year, will be played on Patch 13.05.
Patch 13.05, released September 1, is the current patch the game is being played on, while Champions will start September 24.

Riot claims that the Warden is being added to the game to expand how players develop their mechanical mastery and strategic planning.
And the publisher believes that while Phantom vs Vandal debates continue, there’s still room to add more options and support more playstyles.
The Warden will be best for players who like to play at long range, using ADS to hold longer sight lines, while still keeping the versatility expected from rifles.
