Valorant Dev Update Unveils New Game Mode, New ‘Warden’ Rifle, and Agent Mastery System for 13.06 Patch

Valorant’s latest dev update has unveiled a new game mode, a new assault rifle, and a new mastery system for the tactical shooter.

Insider Gaming has all you need to know to get your head around everything coming in the Valorant 13.06 Patch, including how Gauntlet: Glitched works and why the Warden might be your new rifle of choice.

What is Valorant’s new game mode?

Coming in the 13.06 Patch, Valorant’s new game mode is entitled “Gauntlet: Glitched”. The new mode sees eight duos compete in a tournament-style round-robin event until one team comes out on top.

The mode will see duos create their own hybrid ‘Robo-Agent’ by drafting from a randomized pool of abilities, which can then be upgraded and altered to create a build that suits the player.

The ‘Glitched’ element refers to glitches that will alter abilities unexpectedly, making players think on their toes and ensuring no two games are the same.

Valorant’s Warden Rifle explained

The Warden rifle joins the Vandal and Phantom as a new assault rifle. The Vandal and Phantom have become the dominant weapons of choice in Valorant esports, so what does the Warden offer to tempt players who are used to those weapons?

In a word, flexibility. The Warden features a superior Aim Down Sights (ADS) zoom than the classic assault rifles, making it easier to hold angles and targets from far away.

The rifle therefore acts as a middle ground between the classic assault rifle and the sniper rifle class, which includes the Marshal, Outlaw, and Operator.

Valorant’s new Agent Mastery System

Also coming to Valorant is the Agent Mastery System, which will see players get rewarded for their playtime and performance.

The system replaces the current Agent Gear system, allowing players to showcase their strengths through their Agent ID, which will now offer customizations, allowing players to showcase their master rewards, portraits, icons, borders, and other cosmetics.
