Assassin’s Creed Jade is currently in development.
The Assassin’s Creed franchise remains one of Ubisoft’s pillars, especially now, during a tumultuous time for the company. In a new blog focusing on the future of the franchise, Ubisoft revealed that Assassin’s Creed Jade is currently in development. It was touted as one of many projects in different stages of development.
Assassin’s Creed Jade is a mobile game set in ancient China. Purple players gained access to a beta in 2022, and footage surfaced online in 2023. The most recent report on the game came in 2024, when it was revealed that it was being delayed in hopes of a 2025 release. Obviously, that didn’t happen.
Assassin’s Creed Is Focused on Bringing Back Co-Op
Of note, the mention of Assassin’s Creed Jade being a development was immediately followed by the Assassin’s Creed team reaffirming that they are looking to bring co-op play back to the franchise. They admitted that they recently pivoted away from an early project, but are taking the lessons they learned from that project and moving forward.
They also noted that Assassin’s Creed Codename Invictus is a PvP multiplayer title being developed by a dedicated team of For Honor veterans at Ubisoft Montreal. They say player feedback is at the heart of their development approach, and they continue to explore ways to bring the community into the development experience.
