The next new story in the classic Tomb Raider series has been delayed.
In an interview with The Game Guisness, the head of Amazon Games, Jeffrey Gattis, revealed that Tomb Raider: Catalyst is being pushed back to 2028.
The Second Tomb Raider Delay
The news of Tomb Raider: Catalyst’s delay shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis was pushed out of 2026 to February 2027, meaning Amazon Games would’ve released two Tomb Raider titles in the same calendar year.
“Obviously, we’ve announced the two Tomb Raider titles,” he said. “[Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis] comes February 12th of next year, and then we’ll follow on in 2028 with the next one. We’re excited about those.”
Revealed at The Game Awards 2025, Tomb Raider: Catalyst will see Lara Croft head to Northern India for her next adventure.
“Tomb Raider: Catalyst is set in the wake of a mythical cataclysm that has unleashed ancient secrets and awakened the mysterious forces that guard them,” the game’s description reads.
“When the most notorious treasure hunters from around the world descend on the region, Lara races to uncover the truth buried beneath the fractured landscape and stop those who would use its power for their own gain. As the ancient world collides with the present, Lara must decide who to trust among rivals and allies to prevent a catastrophe and protect a secret that could reshape the future.”
