World of Warcraft is bringing viral sensation Jimothy the raccoon to the game as a pet in a future update, after the Seattle-based animal caught the hearts of fans worldwide.
Videos and images of Jimothy, a raccoon with a deformity that results in a hunched back and a smaller size, have spread widely on social media, with many companies jumping on the trend.
Blizzard is going one step further with World of Warcraft, however, revealing that Jimothy is set to come to the game as a companion for players in Azeroth.
Jimothy Coming to World of Warcraft
Posting on X, the official World of Warcraft account posted a clip of Jimothy modelled in the game, accompanied by a message that said: “You asked, Jimothy answered.”
It was then added that Jimothy would be “coming soon to Azeroth,” although no details on when the addition would take place or what price he would cost were stated.
There are thousands of pets available in World of Warcraft, some of which are available for free through gameplay, others that require purchase through Gold, and some directly available for purchase through the Blizzard Shop.
Jimothy seems like a candidate to fall into the latter category, which could result in a price of around $10 to $15, but we’ll have to wait and see what price point is placed upon the beloved raccoon.
