Pokémon TCG Pocket Finally Adding Pity System & Multi-Set Card Ownership

Pokémon TCG Pocket is braced for another update next week, bringing a new set of cards into the game, but the update is also set to bring about a number of gameplay changes.

TCG Pocket has become an extremely popular title, with regular updates providing a wealth of content to work through, but grinding to complete sets is tricky, especially when it comes to the rarest cards.

However, a system update is set to introduce a type of pity mechanic into the game, which should make it easier to tick off all the cards to collect, alongside other improvements.

Pokémon TCG Pocket Adding Pity System & Multi-Set Card Ownership

As detailed by UniteVids on X, the July 29 update to TCG Pocket, which introduces the B4 Ruler of the Skies set to the game, also provides additional updates.

This includes a guaranteed higher-rarity card in your next pack opening, should certain conditions be fulfilled, which will make it considerably easier to tick through set completion.

Additionally, when obtaining a card included in multiple booster packs, it will now be registered for all corresponding packs, rather than needing to collect them in each set individually.

This is particularly important for the Deluxe Pack ex set, initially introduced in September 2025, which has a whopping 379 cards to collect, many of which are reprints.

The Deluxe Pack ex set is also not available permanently, making it even harder to tick off, and the likelihood is a similar set is on the horizon as the B4b set in TCG Pocket to cap off the B Series of sets.

Ruler of the Skies is the B4 set, and will likely be followed by another smaller subset, before a larger set full of reprinted cards from the B Series is released to cap off this period.

Check out the trailer for the Ruler of the Skies set in TCG Pocket below.
