Riftbound Unleashed, the third set of the League of Legends Trading Card Game Riftbound, is now available in English across North America, Latin America, EMEA and Oceania.
The latest set contains over 220 cards, including Insider Gaming’s exclusive reveal Revna the Lorekeeper and more than 40 Showcase cards.
Unleashed introduces new champions and new game-changing mechanics, all of which Insider Gaming will have a review of soon.
Cards from Unleashed will be playable at upcoming Regional Qualifiers across NA, EMEA, and APAC.
What’s New In Riftbound Unleashed?
Riftbound: Unleashed is a jungle-themed set, introducing the jungle monsters from LoL including the iconic Baron Nashor.
The overarching theme of the set sees players focus on being patient to strike at the perfect time — just like junglers ganking in the MOBA.
The set includes 12 new champions in total:
- Diana
- Ivern
- Jihn
- Kha’Zix
- Leblanc
- Lillia
- Master Yi
- Poppy
- Pyke
- Rengar
- Vex
- Vi
And with them come new game mechanics for the Riftbound TCG.
One of those is XP, which is a resource players can build up for massive turns.
An example of this is Kha’Zix, whose card reads: “When you win a combat, gain 1 XP.”
This XP can then be spent on the abilities on this card: spend 1 XP to Buff a unit, or 2 XP to move an exhausted friendly unit from a battlefield to its base.
Additionally, you gain a level each time you earn an XP. Levelling up cards can unlock new abilities and additional benefits.
Another new mechanic, Hunt, then allows you to accrue more XP as cards with Hunt earn XP when they conquer or hold a battlefield.
The other new mechanic in Riftbound: Unleashed is Ambush – Riftbound’s own version of ganking.
Ambush lets you play a unit as a Reaction to a battlefield where you already have units to swarm your opponent.

Meanwhile, mobile game Pokémon Pocket TCG is supposedly introducing a new raid game mode.
