Epic Games has confirmed The Simpsons is returning to Fortnite next week as part of an update to the Fortnite Reload mode, including the return of the Springfield map.
The Simpsons paired with Fortnite for a huge collab last year, taking over the island and bringing a host of iconic characters into the game, culminating in a huge end-of-chapter live event.
That’s set a new precedent for Fortnite moving forward, with a similar mini-season expected to arrive before the move into a new chapter later this year, and The Simpsons are making a return.
The Simpsons Returns to Fortnite
In a teaser tweet, the official Fortnite account posted on X that a full reveal is coming on July 29, ahead of an update that is expected to arrive the following day.
Fortnite’s bi-weekly updates regularly introduce new content, and The Simpsons in Fortnite Reload is one of the biggest introductions in next week’s patch, alongside a Spider-Man collab.
While it’s not indicated exactly what will return when The Simpsons arrives in Fortnite Reload, the teaser showed the Springfield map, which will take centre stage once again, and it’s likely that vaulted weapons and equipment will also make a return.
This could include the Blinky Fish, which provided a boost of health and a dash ability for a short period of time, the Super Squishee, which boosts health, shields, and provides the Slap effect, the Mr. Blasty revolver, including the Krusty variant that attaches a balloon to the target, and more.
Bosses from The Simpsons season are also expected to return, with the occasion in general set to be a throwback to last year’s mini season.
