LCS champions Team Liquid have finally won a match at the League of Legends World Championship (LoL Worlds) 2026.
In an unexpected turn of events, both North America’s champions and China’s LPL champions Anyone’s Legend lost their first two matches.
The two champions then drew each other in the Swiss Stage, with the loser of the best-of-three eliminated from the tournament.
And the series went the way of Team Liquid, as they impressively swept AL 2-0 to keep their Knockouts hopes alive.
Team Liquid Sweep Anyone’s Legend
Worlds was looking disastrous for both teams.
AL were shocked by Karmine Corp on LoL Worlds Day 1 and then lost to lower LPL seeds Top Esports who are playing with a sub.
Meanwhile, Team Liquid were letting down the home crowd after a shock loss to CTBC Flying Oyster and then a tough draw against Bilibili Gaming.
Liquid then finally showed their best form with a dominant Game 1 versus AL. Liquid drafted for comfort and shut their opponents down with devastating efficiency.
It looked like it would be a short-lived series as Team Liquid then found a 5k gold lead in Game 2.

However, a horrific team fight at Dragon gave AL three kills for nothing and lots of gold onto Wang “Hope” Jie’s Jinx.
Yet, Team Liquid fought back and brought the game back to even until one final Drake fight 45 minutes in, with both teams on Soul Point.
Liquid secured the Infernal Soul and then a triple kill for Sean ‘Yeon’ Sung to earn the 2-0 win.
AL have been eliminated after failing to win a single match or series, while Team Liquid will next face LØS in a best-of-three.
