The LEC’s Karmine Corp are in danger of being eliminated from the League of Legends World Championships (LoL Worlds).
The EMEA third seeds had a promising start. KCorp shocked Anyone’s Legends in a best-of-one after escaping the Play-Ins.
However, after losing to the LCS’s LYON over the weekend and to the LPL’s Bilibili Gaming (BLG), KCorp are one series away from elimination.
They now find themselves in the 1-2 bracket, alongside LEC champions G2, and will have to win two best-of-three series to reach the LoL Worlds Knockouts.
BLG Defeats KCorp
BLG have recovered well from their shock loss to MKOI on Worlds Day 1, and look like they are returning to form.
However, they’re still far from reaching the form of LoL Worlds tournament favourites, a standard Chinese fans were expecting.
The Chinese team had been dominating the LPL, winning the first two splits and the First Stand international tournament, but lost the Split 3 final to Anyone’s Legend.
Now, they have recorded best-of-one wins over Team Liquid and KCorp to be one series away from the LoL Worlds Knockouts.
KCorp trailed the entire game, mostly due to individual CS and turret plating, but remained in contention after quickly securing three Drakes for Soul Point.
However, KCorp’s disjointed team fighting and mechanical mistakes were quickly punished by BLG.
Now, KCorp will fight for their LoL Worlds survival against either G2, CTBC Flying Osyter, or MSI champions Hanwha Life Esports.
