Escape from Tarkov Devs Confirm Experimental Spawn Changes on Lighthouse

Escape from Tarkov’s more eagle-eyed players started noticing a subtle change this week. They saw that, in certain raids on Lighthouse, they were spawning to the north of the map, above the water treatment plant, a place where PMCs never previously surfaced.

The developers at Battlestate Games then published a blog post confirming these changes, stressing that they’re experimental and will evolve based on incoming feedback. Fans have already voiced their biggest concerns about the map, most of which go far beyond spawn locations.

Lighthouse Spawn Changes Arrive in Tarkov

In a new blog post, Battlestate Games explained a few things about Lighthouse, one of the largest and most complex maps in Escape from Tarkov. It’s considered especially complicated because of the presence of Rogues, heavily armed guards with mounted weapons and an incredible line of sight over much of the map.

Based on feedback and suggestions from the community, the team confirmed that spawn points along the shore will not be removed, as they’re ‘currently necessary’ on the map. They also confirmed that the map’s inherent layout will not be changed, as this would be too much work, and the team is focused on optimization and upcoming events.

In recent years, almost every major map in Escape from Tarkov has undergone an overhaul, adding new areas and expanding what might have been the same for a very long time.

What has changed is the location of certain PMC spawns on Lighthouse. It was explained that PMCs can now spawn in the north of the map, near the train yard and above the water treatment plant. Elsewhere, PMCs’ spawn points have been adjusted as needed to keep the southern part of the map less congested.

BSG then requested opinions, stressing that adjustments will be made based on the community sentiments regarding this change.

In the comments under the post, users pointed out that it’s not just the spawn points that are an issue on Lighthouse. The map’s base makeup, the completion fields for certain tasks, the distribution of high-tier loot areas, and the location of extraction points all came up and faced intense negativity.
