Previous Subnautica adventures have been compelling journeys under the sea. One thing that could have made them even more enjoyable (and less terrifying) is getting to explore the water with someone else in co-op multiplayer.
Games have to evolve, right? If you stick to the same time formula for too long without much innovation, then it might have been best not to release something new. Subnautica 2 early access delivers a sprinkling of something new in almost every way, but the addition of any multiplayer would be a game-changer.
