The World’s Biggest Streamers Are Building a Battle Royale Game

In one of the most Inception-ish announcements of the year, it has been revealed that five of the biggest streamers in the world are joining forces to build an all-new, ‘community-powered’ battle royale game… Inside a battle royale game.

Through the power of the UEFN – Epic’s Fortnite editor backed by the might of the Unreal Engine- TimTheTatMan, SypherPK, NICKMERCS, Ninja, and CouRage JD will build a battle royale game that’s ‘really unique’, and they’ll technically do it inside of Fortnite itself.

Build a Battle Royale Within a Battle Royale

The UEFN was launched in March, and it has already proven to be a roaring success, bringing a phenomenal toolkit to creators, the likes of which has never been seen before. It has allowed some of these creators to build entire worlds from the ground up, as there really are no limits to what can be built, animated, and developed within the UEFN.

Five world-class streamers are taking gaming matters into their own hands, using their experience gained from ‘playing every BR on the market’ to create their own battle royale title in the UEFN. It’s a monumental undertaking, but it has been stressed that it’ll take at least a little while to perfect the game, which is going by the name ‘Project V’, and is expected to drop in 2024 – in some form, at least.

In an ambitious statement posted on Project V’s website, it was explained that:

We’ll be taking our time to develop this game as features for UEFN become more powerful and flexible. With custom weapons, a full scale map, fluid movement and unique mechanics in our sights, we have ambitious plans to build something really unique. While we can’t give away too many details about the game just yet, here’s what we can tell you: Project V will be a game that puts community feedback and features front and center. We believe that our players should have a say in shaping the game they play.

Collectively, the five streamers boast a following of more than 140 million people, and by the sheer nature of that community alone, Project V is set to have millions of players when it eventually debuts.

Could Project V – a game built using Fortnite’s UEFN – derail Fortnite itself?
