If you follow the Stellar Blade team on social media for the hundreds of reposts of photomode shots and cosplay attempts, you might be shocked to see cryptocurrency campaigns suddenly popping up in your feed. For the last few days, the Stellar Blade social channel on Twitter (X) has been taken over by crypto scammers eager to rob you blind.
The game’s director has posted on social media, urging fans to be cautious and to ‘refrain from engaging with any of these posts.’
‘NEW MODULE UNLOCKED’
On July 12, things were proceeding as normal, with the Stellar Blade social team reposting sultry photomode shots from the 2024 post-apocalyptic slasher that’s still turning heads today.
Then, in the last couple of days, images and posts started appearing on the channel promoting ‘the largest airdrop in gaming’, talking about a monumental $10 million crypto campaign centered around Stellar Blade.
In a clever sweep, the malicious operators behind the posts accompanied these messages with shots from the game, relying on the ignorance of besotted gamers to see cheeks first and click the link regardless of what it might lead to.
The classic crypto takeover has replaced the channel’s bio with information about the airdrop, linking to a deceptive site that the game’s director, Hyung-Tae Kim, has called out as ‘repeatedly announcing fraudulent cryptocurrency drops’.
Please be advised that this website is not affiliated with Stellar Blade in any way, and we have never issued any cryptocurrency. We sincerely urge everyone to exercise caution and avoid becoming a victim of this scam. Should any further issues arise, we will notify you immediately.

The saving grace here for Stellar Blade and Shift Up is that X seems to have blacklisted the profile. When you try to click on the account to view the feed within, you’re warned that inappropriate content sits front and centre.
It’s assumed that the channel, which has 177,000 followers, is in a fight for control between the hackers and Shift Up.
