A new report tells us that Shift Up might be thinking of another new platform for Stellar Blade, and it is none other than Nintendo’s latest console, the Switch 2.
Stellar Blade received a PC port a year after its PlayStation 5 release and has been experiencing great success lately. The PC port hit $1 million sales 19 times faster than on PlayStation 5, which only shows the demand for the game on a new platform. It seems Stellar Blade will continue with its multi-platform push, with the Switch 2 being its supposed next target.
Stellar Blade Switch 2 Version Could be In The Works
Spotted by TheGamer, a new report by Korean website PlayForum tells us about Shift Up working on a Switch 2 port for Stellar Blade. It claims that the developers have already been provided with an official dev kit for the Switch 2 and “have begun initial work” (via Google Translate). The dev kit includes unpublished APIs, test software, and debugging tools.
The report also tells us that Shift Up gifted the Nintendo Switch 2 to 300 employees to celebrate hitting 3 million units sold. At the same time, an official from the development team has informed PlayForum that “there is nothing confirmed yet” regarding the development of a Switch 2 port for Stellar Blade, and they are “reviewing possibilities internally”.
Stellar Blade’s PC port has been a match made in heaven for players, instantly breaking the player record for PlayStation to PC games. The added support from the modding community has been a great help, too. Considering the success they have experienced through a new platform, it doesn’t seem too far-fetched for Stellar Blade to come to the Switch 2. It also helps that Nintendo has been pushing more third-party games with the latest console. However, players should take this information with a grain of salt.
