Star Wars Droid Tycoon Update in Fortnite Makes Grinding Upgrade Chips Easier

Star Wars Droid Tycoon has taken the Fortnite world by storm, and the creators are not resting on their laurels and continue to provide updates to the game, including a tweak to make grinding Upgrade Chips easier.

Upgrade Chips in Droid Tycoon are a crucial resource that are used to upgrade your Droids, without having to wait for higher rarities to spawn at the Jawa Sandcrawler, but the grind to secure the hundreds, and in some cases thousands, required to upgrade some Droids has been unforgiving.

However, a fresh patch bringing Droid Tycoon to Version 13 has changed the formula, providing another quick way to grind for Upgrade Chips.

As shown in the patch details for Version 13, Star Wars Droid Tycoon now provides Upgrade Chips when selling Gold, Diamond, or Rainbow Droids.

The higher the base rarity of the Droid, the more the amount of Chips you receive for selling them, although the grind can still take a while, as the average is around four to eight Upgrade Chips per Droid.

It is still a considerable improvement to the previous Chip-farming method, however, and shows that the developer is still listening to feedback and is prepared to make considerable updates swiftly.

Upgrading some Droids still takes thousands of Upgrade Chips though, and it remains to be seen whether future updates are planned for late-game content.

Several patches have now been deployed for Droid Tycoon since the game went live, and there’s more to come with the mysterious BB8 event set to take place this weekend.
