Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Wraps Filming, Metal Sonic Revealed

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is set to release in 2027, and the filming recently wrapped.

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie series has revitalized the iconic Sega video game franchise. The fourth film has already been confirmed to include Amy Rose, voiced by Kristen Bell. Metal Sonic is teased to be the villain in the movie. Sega first introduced Amy in Sonic CD in 1993, where Metal Sonic was the antagonist.

Additionally, Sir Ben Kingsley and Nick Offerman are set to join the franchise in this film. The main cast will return, including Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Jim Carrey as Dr. Eggman, Idris Elba as Knuckles the Echidna, and Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog. Other cast members include Tika Sumpter, Matt Berry, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Lee Majdoub, and Richard Ayoade.

Film director Jeff Fowler announced the film’s wrap in a Twitter post on May 15. He shared the first look at Metal Sonic and teased that this would be the best movie in the franchise so far.

Other classic Sega properties are slated to return via the big screen. One classic Sega Genesis video game that is being turned into an animation is Streets of Rage. Dmitri Johnson, the producer of the Sonic the Hedgehog movies, is attached to numerous upcoming video game adaptations.
