The developers behind Six Days in Fallujah have announced that its early access period will start on June 22 on Steam.
The game was met with huge controversy in 2009 as the game’s plot was based on the true events of the Second Battle of Fallujah. The game follows a squad of U.S. Marines from 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, fighting in the Second Battle of Fallujah over the span of six days in November 2004.
Six Days in Fallujah was originally going to be published by Konami, however, in April 2009, a spokesperson informed the Associated Press that Konami was no longer publishing the game due to the controversy. The game was then canceled due to controversy and was put on hold until 2016 after its original studio, Atomic Games, went bankrupt in 2011.
The revival of the game, to everyone’s surprise, was announced in February 2021. The game was announced to be in development Highwire Games.
Six Days in Fallujah enters Early Access on Steam on June 22 and is expected to be fully released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in 2023.
