Housemarque has announced that Saros has Gone Gold today, a month ahead of its April 30 release date.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Housemarque had multiple job openings for their next project, just a few days after Saros was featured during February 2026’s State of Play event. Now, they have made another announcement about their upcoming title, which many players will be happy about.
Saros Has Gone Gold on April 1, 2026
The announcement that Saros has Gone Gold was made through an official post from the Housemarque account on X (formerly Twitter). The developers emphasized that this was not an April Fool’s joke. For those who may not know, when a developer states that their game has “gone gold,” it means the title has reached a stage where it can be sent to manufacturers for physical copies to be produced, indicating that no further delays are expected.
What is Saros About?
For those who are unaware, Saros is an upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive developed by Housemarque, the team behind Returnal. In this new game, players will take on the role of Arjun Devraj, a Soltari enforcer on a quest for answers in the shape-shifting world of Carcosa. Saros features a Second Chance mechanic, a constantly evolving environment, and a high-tech arsenal of weaponry which players can use to “dodge, shield, and parry enemy attacks in a fluid, flow-state-inducing dance.”
