Wales Interactive has done something that some folks might find a little bizarre with Sker Ritual. The team has just released the game across PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, an entire year after the game hit the market on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series platforms.
It’s part of the anniversary update for Sker Ritual, an intense zombie FPS that has a round-based operating model similar to classic COD Zombies. It’s a spin-off of Maid of Sker, one of the best horror games I’ve ever played, but it features no-holds-barred action sequences that are a genuine joy to behold.

It has been a year since Sker Ritual graduated out of early access and became a fully released game. To celebrate this milestone, Wales Interactive has released the borderline terrifying FPS on PS4 and Xbox One.
That puts Sker Ritual in a very niche category, as barely any games are being released on PS4 and Xbox One these days, least of all an entire year after they already hit the market. The top titles that hit the biggest audiences, like Call of Duty and some of the annual sports titles, still appear on last-generation consoles, but it’s rare otherwise.
Wales Interactive also revealed that demos and crossplay functionality have been enabled across all applicable platforms:
- PlayStation 4
- PlayStation 4 Pro
- Xbox One
- Xbox One S
- Xbox One X
Sker Ritual is a pretty great game, and it has garnered positive reviews since being released just over a year ago. The game’s blurb offers the best representation possible of the title:
An intense round-based zombie survival FPS, play solo or co-op. Shoot your way through relentless waves of vicious horrors with high-octane objectives, upgrading steampunk weapons, collecting Celtic God powers, and surviving the onslaught of the Quiet Ones.
For those playing Sker Ritual on any platform, Wales Interactive has kicked off a week of double XP, which will help out anyone grinding the title.
