Rockstar Games recently took to a fresh blog post to talk about nopixel V, the ‘next evolution of the GTA V roleplay community.’ In an article published on the Rockstar website, the next iteration of the creative platform was unveiled, with a closed beta for the ecosystem being revealed as coming on September 8.
Many fans worldwide met this announcement with criticism, as for all the content we’ve seen tied to the upcoming GTA 6 release, we’ve still heard absolutely nothing about multiplayer.
GTA V Online Keeps Growing, But GTA 6 Online Doesn’t Yet Exist
It would be foolish to believe that Grand Theft Auto 6 has no form of multiplayer already lined up. It took a few weeks for GTA V’s multiplayer platform to emerge post-launch, and it’s safe to assume that GTA 6 will be no different. It’s worth stressing that, back in 2013, GTA V suffered immensely when GTA Online launched, ruining many first impressions of the platform.

Today, as GTA 6 creeps closer along the horizon, fans are finding themselves hungrier for more information about what that multiplayer platform might contain, but it’s all based on conjecture.
For now, they’ll need to keep themselves content with GTA Online and nopixel, which is evolving, according to Rockstar Games.
In a new post on the Rockstar Blog, nopixel V was unveiled:
For years, we’ve seen the exciting possibilities and passion that the creator community brings to expand upon the worlds of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. GTAV Roleplay is one prominent example of how creators have brought their signature blend of creativity to these experiences and have pioneered new ways to play and watch our games.
Today, we are proud to support nopixel — who have continually pushed the boundaries of GTA Roleplay through character immersion, modifications to the GTAV map, and a creative community of dedicated storytellers — with the official announcement of the nopixel V closed beta arriving on September 8 where invited players will access the experience through the Rockstar Games Launcher.
Here’s the new trailer for nopixel V, which has amassed hundreds of thousands of views in just a few hours:
But what’s new?
Per the blog post, you’re looking at:
- A reworked character customization system
- New city locations
- Refreshed visuals

What’s great is that, even if you can’t or don’t want to participate in nopixel V, you can still reap some benefits of the evolution. When you watch GTA RP streamers play nopixel V on Twitch, you’ll unlock as much as GTA$1,500,000 and exclusive cosmetics. That’s if you watch them between September 8 and 30.
