Resident Evil Requiem Story DLC Will Release After Veronica Remake, It’s Claimed

Some new information about Capcom investing in lengthy story DLCs for Resident Evil reveals that Requiem’s DLC will release after the Veronica Remake.

Since the release of Resident Evil Requiem, players have already received one DLC and have also been informed that a story DLC is on the way. We already knew it would be some time before we could see it, but now it seems players might have to wait until Capcom releases the next remake before they return to the RE9 DLC.

Resident Evil Requiem Story DLC is Ambitious, and the Team is Currently ‘All Hands on Deck’ for Veronica

The latest information on Resident Evil Requiem’s DLC timelines comes from a new series of posts by Dusk Golem (aka AestheticGamer) on X (formerly Twitter). Golem’s latest post begins by discussing what he’s heard about Capcom investing in “more lengthy story DLC” for the future of Resident Evil games and Requiem. The insider has also heard that Capcom plans to release the Requiem DLC after the Veronica Remake.

With the lengthy DLC, Capcom plans to provide a solution for the issues they are facing for RE Engine side games, Revelations, The Chronicles, and more. These DLCs will act as “smaller, more experimental ‘side stories’ for the franchise”. The downloadable content will also help towards having something for players to spend time on while they wait for the bigger releases.

Dusk Golem adds that Capcom will be “ambitious” with the Resident Evil Requiem DLC; however, the team is currently “all hands on deck” for the Veronica remake, aiming to finish it by Q1 2027. It could be delayed to Q2 if required. With the DLC, the devs will respond to feedback on Resident Evil Requiem, which meant being more ambitious and also inspired the decision to provide longer story DLCs.

In a separate X post, the insider also added that through the DLCs, Capcom will be able to “be more responsive to fan desires”. Additionally, it will also allow them to be “experimental for bigger project testing in a few ways while not changing their further out & longer current project pipeline essentially.”

Capcom is yet to officially confirm the release dates for the Resident Evil Requiem DLC and the Code Veronica Remake.
