In a new social media post, the team at Remedy has asked that CONTROL: Resonant spoilers be avoided as much as possible for the next couple of weeks. This coming Thursday, the long-awaited sequel to the mind-bending 2019 title will be released, and as it’s a narrative-driven adventure, spoilers will likely ruin the experience for many online who might not get to play it right away.
They didn’t say not to post spoilers, but if you do, you should mark them clearly to avoid ruining anything for any prospective fans out there.
Keep CONTROL Quiet For Now
This week, CONTROL: Resonant will hit the market after years of development and a huge build-up that has made the game one of the most anticipated titles of 2026.
In a post on social media, Remedy, the game’s developer, requested that players approach the game with a little respect to other users.
They wrote:
We’re excited to welcome you into Altered Manhattan. We’ve spent the last few years packing Dylan Faden’s adventure full of surprises and twists, and want everyone to be able to enjoy CONTROL Resonant totally fresh.
To help make that a reality we ask that, across the next couple of weeks, you don’t share story details on your social media without clear warnings. As always, please treat each other with kindness, and respect everyone’s right to experience the game spoiler-free.
We definitely want you to share your opinions, though, and can’t wait to hear what you all think when CONTROL: Resonant releases this Thursday!
Users in the comments under the post were quick to point out that it’s not necessarily the average social media user who should be warned of this, but the many content creators who either get the game early or grind it, only to upload full gameplay videos within a matter of hours, or minutes, of launch.
Others suggested that having platform-exclusive early access is the antithesis of what Remedy is trying to do by avoiding some revealing what others can’t necessarily see.
One user said, ‘Next time, don’t make a 48-hour early access period exclusive to one platform if you want people to enjoy the game as it releases.’
Another wrote, ‘It would have been easier without platform-exclusive early access. Obviously social media will be full of gameplay and the set pieces just because people want views; they don’t care about spoiling.’
