A new statement from Blizzard reveals StarCraft won’t be an XBOX exclusive, but they haven’t clarified whether it will be available on other consoles.
For those who may not know, Blizzard officially announced a new StarCraft game at the most recent BlizzCon event, after months of anticipation and various rumors. The developers clarified that the game will not be released until 2030. Many fans have also expressed concerns about the exclusivity of the title, and we have received somewhat of an answer.
Blizzard Won’t Say Whether StarCraft Will Release on Other Consoles
After the conclusion of BlizzCon 2026, Kotaku reached out to Blizzard for follow-up questions regarding the exclusivity of StarCraft. When asked why Blizzard had not announced other platforms for StarCraft, a Blizzard spokesperson replied, “We can only say for now that StarCraft won’t be exclusive.”
When further asked for clarification on whether this meant it would also be available on other consoles or just on PC, the spokesperson did not provide a response. They simply stated that if a story claims StarCraft is an Xbox exclusive, they would reach out to correct it.

StarCraft is a franchise that has always been on PC, so not being available on that platform is definitely cause for concern. However, the main ambiguity in this situation would be whether StarCraft will be reserved for XBOX’s consoles or if we see it on PlayStation and Nintendo’s systems too. Also, 2030 is still far away, and we could see the next generation of consoles arrive then.
At the moment, not much is known about the upcoming shooter; we only received a 3-minute cinematic trailer at the latest BlizzCon event. More information is expected once we get closer to the announced release window.
