The BLAST R6 Major Osaka tournament has seen an unusual development emerge, as all 20 participating teams have agreed to not use a newly discovered interaction involving Tubarão and Noor, the latter of which being the newest Operator in the game. This is a pretty rare thing in the Rainbow Six esports space, but it’s not unheard of to see dynamic Gentlemen’s Agreements surface like this.
Speculation surrounding the agreement began yesterday when players first became aware of what has been dubbed an ‘unexpected interaction’ between the Operators’ gadgets. On social media, it was confirmed that a GA has been put in place.
What’s Up With Tubarão and Noor?
In a post on social media Team Liquid’s Felipe ‘FelipoX’ Lucia, it was confirmed that all 20 teams competing in Japan right now have agreed to not take advantage of the Tubarão and Noor combination.
He wrote:
Yesterday, everyone was caught by surprise by a gamechanger mechanic that was not notified anywhere, not even on the latest game patch notes. When asked by multiple teams if this was an intentional interaction, BLAST confirmed with Ubisoft that it is, which is quite weird, as these gadgets never worked this way and no one knew or was told about this change.
With that, all 20 teams agreed to do a GA to not use the Tubarão + Noor wall denial combo. This is something that already exists in other esports scenes, but is new to Siege and i hope and trust that every team honor the agreement
These agreements aren’t unfamiliar in the Rainbow Six Siege world, but they aren’t exactly common, either. They’re mostly dependent on bugs surfacing midway through a competition, which shouldn’t be something you see often.
At the Six Invitational 2019, a rogue situation surfaced when Caveira developed a bug that affected her hitbox and movement mechanics. There was a general agreement in place not to take advantage of this, but one team did. Coincidentally, Caveira was used against Team Liquid.

These GAs are voluntary arrangements between competitors, and they’re not officially enforced rules, so BLAST can’t really do anything if a team decides to use these Operators. It all comes down to good sportsmanship.
