Pokémon Pokopia Bubbly Basin: Where to Find Starmie Doll

Pokémon Pokopia has plenty to explore with the new Bubbly Basin area in the Expansion Pass, including a Starmie Doll to locate, which is required for progression and access to a new Dream Island.

Starmie is a Pokémon that has a significant tie to Bubbly Basin, which is based on a sunken version of Kanto’s Cerulean City, as the ace Pokémon of Misty’s party. As well as being encounterable in Pokopia, there’s also a Starmie Doll.

If you’re on the hunt for a Starmie Doll in Pokémon Pokopia, Insider Gaming has the directions and details you need.

The Starmie Doll in Bubbly Basin is hidden away in a cave and won’t be visible, even when you get close, but you can use a Dowsing Machine and a Pokémon with the Search ability to assist.

Finding the Starmie Doll is a key part of the main story in the Bubbly Basin area, required to complete a Frillish request, which in turn is needed to help Popplio with the major construction task they are planning.

Frillish cannot be encountered until this questline is unlocked, after raising the Bubbly Basin environment level to three, but the Starmie Doll can be found before then. However, it’s best to wait for Frillish.

When exploring the cave with Frillish, keep your eyes peeled for the area with a tonne of minecart tracks. The majority of the walls and rocks in this area cannot be destroyed, but there’s a stack of rocks that can, and the Starmie Doll is a piece of hidden treasure inside.

As mentioned, it’s best to use a Dowsing Machine and Frillish to be quickly directed to the right spot, especially as it ticks off a key part of story progression on the way.

What Does The Starmie Doll do in Pokopia?

The Starmie Doll works in the same way as the other dolls you can encounter in Pokémon Pokopia, serving as both a decoration, and opening the door to explore Dream Islands.

Dream Islands are a great way to gather an abundance of resources, and also open the door to befriending legendary Pokémon to expand your towns.

The addition of the Starmie Doll provides another Legendary Pokémon to encounter, Phione, but there’s no guarantee it will spawn, and it is instead down to random chance.

Still, the Starmie Doll provides a great way to gather a tonne of resources like Grubby Pearls, Sea Grapes, Coral, Gold, Iron Ore, and more.
