How to Get Portal Pods in Pokémon Pokopia

More content has been added to Pokémon Pokopia in the latest update, and while the standout addition is the DLC with Bubbly Basin, Portal Pods are a new item that makes storage much easier.

Portal Pods in Pokémon Pokopia work similarly to Ender Chests in Minecraft, providing room for up to 140 stacks of items that are then accessible wherever you are in the world, as long as you have a Portal Pod to interact with.

If you want to add this crucial resource to your game, Insider Gaming has all the details.

Where to Find Portal Pods in Pokémon Pokopia

A free Portal Pod is available to collect in Pokémon Pokopia, but it’s only available if you have the Expansion Pass and access to Bubbly Basin.

From the entrance to Bubbly Basin, head straight ahead beyond the starting area Popplio first takes you to, but it’s best to navigate above water using Surf. With this method, head beyond the ornate building poking above the water, aiming for the island just behind.

At the island, dive beneath the water again, and head into the building. Inside, a Portal Pod is there which can be collected using Rock Smash, and there’s another inside a Pokéball at the bottom of the stairs at the back of the building.

Once you have these, you can use the 3D printer inside a Pokémon Center to take as many as you need, once you take a picture of it. You can also travel to a Cloud Island or friends’ island and take a picture of their Portal Pod.

How to Unlock Portal Pod Recipe in Pokémon Pokopia

To craft a Portal Pod from scratch, you must increase the environment level in Palette Town, an area separate to the main game.

Palette Town is a blank canvas for building and encountering Pokémon in Pokopia, including a variety that do not appear in any of the four towns in the base game or in the Bubbly Basin DLC area.

As you progress, your environment level increases, unlocking rewards along the way. After the 2.0.0 update, this includes the Portal Pod.

This is the cheapest way to obtain a Portal Pod, as you won’t need to utilize the expensive 3D-printing mechanic inside of a rebuilt Pokémon Center.
