PlayStation Has a State of Play Scheduled for Next Week, It’s Claimed

Another source has stated that PlayStation has a State of Play planned for next week.

Earlier this month, Insider Gaming exclusively reported that PlayStation has a State of Play event scheduled for the end of September, where Marvel’s Wolverine is “almost certainly” going to be a part of the event. Now, another source has corroborated the SOP news, adding that it’s arriving as soon as next week.

A PlayStation State of Play Event Could Be Just Around the Corner

There have been a few State of Play events in recent times, but they focused on one game, such as the 007 First Light and Ghost of Tsushima gameplay deep dive. The last proper State of Play showcase was back on June 4, and since then, players have been patiently waiting for a new one. Fortunately for them, a very reliable source, NateTheHate, has also claimed that “Sony has a presentation soon”, adding that it’s scheduled for “next week” in a follow-up reply on X (formerly Twitter).

What to Expect from Upcoming State of Play?

PlayStation’s State of Play event for next week could be a stacked event, with Marvel’s Wolverine most likely being the headliner. A recent report also claimed that Insomniac Games is targeting 2026 as the release window for Marvel’s Wolverine, so this could be a great opportunity for them to finally give the game a proper reveal. Other games, such as Bungie’s Marathon, Metroidvania God of War, Phantom Blade 0, and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, could also be a part of the event; however, there is no official confirmation yet about any of these games, or even the SOP presentation.
