PIONER Devs Break Radio Silence Regarding Future Updates

The developers at GFA Games, the studio behind PIONER, have broken radio silence on social media regarding the game’s next major update. Coincidentally, this message comes not even one full day after I published a lengthy report discussing the studio’s silence, lack of updates, imminent bankruptcy, and issues with unpaid salaries.

The update the team has addressed involves server optimization and the hopeful eradication of the account wiping issues that have plagued players for several months, but it doesn’t say anything about the existing roadmap for the game.

PIONER Roadmap Pushed Aside for Optimization Update

GFA Games has posted a lengthy message on social media less than 24 hours after I published a report talking about the company’s recent struggles. In the last few weeks, we’ve seen murmurings of unpaid salaries, court-ordered bankruptcy notices, and a website redirecting to 404 error messages.

Now, the team has jumped onto socials to explain what the chief focus is now for the development of PIONER:

I’ve got some good news for you. Right now, we’re working on an update with a nice version number — EA 0.2.0. Yes, we missed our original schedule (sorry, the team has been going through a difficult period), but we’re still planning to deliver something really exciting.

My colleagues will be sharing more details with you very soon, while today I’d like to tell you about the plans of my platform development team.

The ‘plans’ are to tidy up server log optimization, cutting down the amount of unscheduled maintenance that the team will need to perform going forward. This will mean that servers will be more stable. Coincidentally, the team wrote:

Yes, we’re just as tired of posting frequent maintenance announcements as you are.

In my report yesterday, I stated: ‘On social media, the team has just posted a loop of messages regarding server restarts and maintenance windows, nothing of any substance.’

These tweaks will, in GFA’s words, improve server handling, network latency concerns, and synchronization issues, but it’s not an easy feat. It will apparently take up to three months to get this update pushed out. Nothing was said about the existing roadmap that the team published in April 2026, though.

Only time will tell what happens with PIONER. Let us know on the Insider Gaming Discord server if you’ve ever played this MMO.
