Square Enix has offered a positive update on the chances of Final Fantasy 15 arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 in the future.
As Final Fantasy 7’s Remake Trilogy has found its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, third-party support continues to bolster that console’s library. Recently, Square Enix executives were asked by shareholders about the possibility of Final Fantasy 15 finding its way to Nintendo’s latest platform. The response wasn’t a definitive yes. Still, it was positive.
Square Enix Open to Bringing Final Fantasy 15 to Switch 2
In a translated answer from the Q&A section of the recent shareholders’ meeting on June 24, 2026, a Square Enix representative noted that bringing Final Fantasy 15 to Nintendo Switch 2 would be possible. However, there would be some hardware issues that would make it difficult to exactly replicate the experience of the 2016 experience. Still, they would mention the suggestion to the developers.
“First, while there are certain hardware constraints when it comes to faithfully replicating the exact experience of ‘FINAL FANTASY XV,’ we can say that it is not entirely impossible. As to whether we will actually deploy it on the Nintendo Switch 2, we will pass along your input to the development team as a valuable perspective on marketing and future platform options.“
