Phasmophobia, the horror indie darling from Kinetic Games, has a new roadmap on Steam for all of the updates coming in “2024 and beyond”.
The roadmap is featured in a new blog post on Steam and includes key details on all of the major details ahead of the full release.
The developers intentionally removed specific dates for each of the updates. They also carefully add that any information and images “may change drastically”.
The developers planned to release Phasmophobia last year, but it was ultimately delayed. Updates on the release have been few and far between.
The developers address this in today’s new blog, but offer no new information. They simply state “it’ll arrive as soon as it’s ready”.
Since they didn’t confirm a new release window alongside today’s roadmap, fans might have to wait quite a while. Although, the console release will include “extra changes for console players on day one”.
The phrase “2024 and beyond” is rather cautious. This suggests that the game’s full release could end up in 2025.
The devs do announce that the first update from the roadmap will roll out next week.
There are also some fresh images of Phasmophobia’s first new location in a long time, the Point Hope lighthouse.
The devs explain that Point Hope “offers a widely different gameplay experience, similar to the Campsites”.
It has circular rooms that take up an entire floor, which should offer a fresh angle for tension and strategy. Players certainly need a different challenge after so many years of ghost hunting.
Today’s new Phasmophobia roadmap teases major overhauls, entirely new models, and more for 2024.
But the developers add they also plan on introducing “more equipment, ghosts and locations after 1.0 finally arrives”.
