Xbox Game Pass Titles For January Announced

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Combat Game Pass

The new Xbox Game Pass titles coming in January have just been announced in a new Xbox blog post. There are 8 games in total, including Close to the Sun, an indie adventure that is available today.

  • Hell Let Loose – January 4th
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – January 9th
  • Figment – January 9th
  • Super Mega Baseball 4 – January 11th
  • We Happy Few – January 11th
  • Resident Evil 2 – January 16th
  • Those Who Remain – January 16th

The blog also confirms all of the games that will be leaving the Game Pass in January. Grand Theft Auto V is leaving on January 5th. The rest will leave on January 15th:

  • Garden Story
  • MotoGP 22
  • Persona 4 Golden
  • Persona 3 Portable

Today’s new blog only covers the first half of January. So, fans who might be disappointed with some of the smaller games headed to Game Pass this month can still await another update later on.

Indie games can gain more popularity on subscription services, so it is always nice to see more indie additions.

The indie games that were announced today have also maintained positive ratings since launch. Most of them have attained Very Positive scores on Steam and are surely worth another look.

Figment, the surreal hand-drawn adventure from renowned indie devs Bedtime Digital Games, is certainly a highlight.

However, many of the titles are also a bit older, including the blockbusters like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Resident Evil 2.

While satisfying, most players dedicated enough to invest in Game Pass have probably either tried or completed such titles by now.

The first Game Pass update doesn’t exactly kick off 2024 with a bang. Ideally, another wave of titles will include more recent games.
