If you are a fan of hack-and-slash games, then the upcoming title “Phantom Blade Zero” will be for you. The new video game developed by S-Game has been getting gamers excited since its announcement in 2023.
But how much do we actually know about the upcoming game? How much has actually been said about Phantom Blade Zero?
Here is everything we know about the upcoming RPG, Phantom Blade Zero.
What is Phantom Blade Zero?
Many reading this may be wondering just exactly what is Phantom Blade Zero. The new title is an RPG set in a dark world where an elite assassin must fight for and serve a powerful organization called “The Order.”
From the gameplay and images released, the game takes on a bloody and harsh combat system, as players must fight against various enemies while also committing various assassinations. At the moment, though, not much is known about the game.
For a better look at the gameplay, watch the reveal trailer below.
The game has a very dark vibe to it, similar to the popular PlayStation exclusive, Ghost of Tsushima.
When will Phantom Blade Zero be Released?
At the moment, there is no definitive release date for the game. In fact, the game does not even have a release window, meaning it could be months to years before we see a release.
The game was only first revealed in 2023, meaning it still probably has a lot of work to be done to it. At the moment, the only gameplay people have is from the initial release trailer, meaning there is still a decent amount of work left to be done on the game.
Still, though, gamers are hoping to at least get a set release date within 2024, with a release hopefully no later than 2025.
Will Phantom Blade Zero be Playable on PS5, Xbox and PC?
Phantom Blade Zero is sadly not going to be a title that will span across all platforms. In fact, only PS5 and PC will obtain the title, as the Xbox and Nintendo Switch will not be able to play it.
This does not mean we won’t see the game come over to one of these systems in the future, though. With it releasing on PC from the start, we may see Microsoft eventually bring it over to the Xbox.
For now, though, the game is being made primarily for the PS5, exciting those who bought the popular PlayStation console.

Will Phantom Blade Zero be Open-world?
When it comes to RPGs, many gamers prefer the massive open-world style. There is something different about being able to immersive yourself into an entire fictional world that feels bigger than the one we actually live in.
So will Phantom Blade Zero be open-world? A title as big as this one, with over 40 hours of gameplay just in the main story, would have to be open-world, right?
Well, not exactly. While the game will feature areas that seem open-world, it is sticking to the semi-open-world experience, where some areas will not be reachable without beating specific parts of the main story.
This still gives gamers a chance to explore a whole new world, as games like Ocarina of Time and more also stuck to this style of gameplay and were extremely successful.
What will Phantom Blade Zero be Rated?
Many games that do not have a release date also do not have a rating. Phantom Blade Zero, however, is different. With its first trailer, the game was given a rating of M for Mature.
As of now, though, the rating has no actual description other than that the game may contain content not suitable for children. It is a dark game surrounded by killing and more, so it should be expected to be heavily graphic.
Just from seeing the trailer, gamers are already prepared for a dark and immersive experience. Many are waiting patiently as developers work on the title, preparing gamers for what may be one of the better RPGs released over the next few years.
