Palworld Mobile Could Feature Season Pass, And Other Live-Service Elements, Job Listing Suggests

New job listings suggest Palworld Mobile could feature a Season Pass and other live-service elements.

Palworld Mobile, developed by Krafton, was announced in 2025 as a mobile adaptation of Palworld, whereas Palworld Online is a more recent project by Garena that leans completely into the live-service MMO genre. It is easy to mix the two titles up, but Krafton has so far marketed what it’s developing as a faithful mobile adaptation of the original game. However, recent job listings could suggest otherwise.

Palworld Season Pass

Several job listings have appeared since yesterday for the Palworld Mobile dev team’s expansion, which include terms like “season pass,” “seasonal events,” “live-service,” etc. We found three positions with this wording, which were all translated from Chinese to English via Google Translate.

The Sr. 3D Environment Artist position describes the project as having additional “new content optimized for the mobile platform.” At the same time, it wants to be faithful “using the vast open world of the original Palworld, the unique survival and production system, and the interaction with various Pals.”

The addition of new content optimized for mobile could mean a lot of things, but when paired with how the position of System Designer wants the person to design “an out-game system for community, season passes, etc.,” the options are narrowed down quite a lot. It also mentions “national, seasonal event system,” and while the seasonal event system makes sense, the national aspect could be another live-service element with odd translation.

Seasonal passes or seasonal event systems are typically available in live-service games, which Palworld is not. The game decided very early on to stick to a buy-to-play model and has consistently made quality content that matches that description. If a mobile game was to deviate from that, it does make you wonder how faithful of an adaptation we might see.

One of the position requirements for World Contents Designer also mentions, “Experience in at least one commercialization and live service game development.” The repeated emphasis on candidates with live-service experience is a reliable indicator of what the studio wants for the project.

Credit where it’s due: almost all active positions require 50-100+ hours of playtime in Palworld, which strongly suggests how faithful Palworld Mobile wants to be to the original game. Whether the additional content creates an identity crisis or elevates the experience is something we would like to see addressed.

What do you think of Palworld Mobile having more of a live-service element, like a season pass? Share your thoughts on the Insider Gaming Discord server.
