No Man’s Sky The Swarm Update Details Revealed

Hello Games has just introduced a brand-new update for No Man’s Sky, The Swarm, which launches today.

No Man’s Sky received a big update just last month with Xeno Arena, which basically added Pokémon in space for the game. Now, the developers have stated that it was a small one, and the next update “is something much larger”. Learn more about what The Swarm brings to No Man’s Sky below:

No Man’s Sky Brings Something Huge in the Sky Above the Planets

The new blog post reveals that the Swarm update for No Man’s Sky will require a community effort. Players participating in this update will undergo a personality test that places them into one of three factions. These factions need to work together to overpower the Hive of Glass, which is threatening the existence of the universe.

Players will launch a war effort from the Nexus and receive a new bulletin to track their progress. When facing off with the Hive, your progress will be seen by all players, and the squad that provides the best effort will be “memorialized in the Space Anomaly for all time.”

No Man’s Sky’s The Swarm update will bring the most epic space battles to date, battling against a swarm of robotic drones, with hundreds of ships participating. The big thing in the sky, or the Hive, is a weapon in itself, the largest one players have seen in No Man’s Sky, which is “capable of destroying freighter fleets and perhaps even something as large as a space station” through its laser.

You will be battling in space and investigating the ruins of the drones on the planets through the Gravity Gun. The investigations will lead to the discovery not only of the Hive’s origins but also of how to sabotage it and the weaknesses players can exploit.

Your efforts will not be in vain, as the developers have set up rewards such as a full suit of armor with a retro sci-fi feel, a new rifle, a huge new jetpack, and much more.
